How do you like Hokkaido? – SAPPORO
This is Hiro,
actually I’m from Hokkaido which is the northernmost prefecture in Japan.
Summer in Tokyo is really hot😵
So how about travelling to Hokkaido to escape from the heat?
Thus I’ll show you Sapporo which is main city of Hokkaido.
Firstly, how to get to there from our hotel? ;
[Oji Sta.] -> [Haneda Airport] *by bus (1hour)
[Haneda Airport (HND)] -> [Shinchitose Airport (CTS)] *by airplane (1.5hours)
[CTS] -> [Sapporo Sta.] *by train (40mins)
It takes about 3 hours so it’s not so far a way, right?
So let’s begin to introduce my hometown, SAPPORO!
It’s near by Sapporo station.
It takes about 10 minutes on foot.
If it rains, you can use underground walkway or subway.
Odori park is 1.5 km, long park.
It has flowers, trees, fountains and TV tower.
The TV tower is a symbol of this park.
Odori park is popular among locals.
The famous event is “Snow festival in Sapporo”.
It has a statue of Dr. Clark who is father of pioneers in Hokkaido.
His famous quote is “BOYS BE AMBITIOUS”.
You can see idyllic landscape typical of Hokkaido and enjoy various “landscapes” and “experiences” depending on the season.
Also food, Hokkaido Soul Food “Genghis Khan”
It’s delicious! I love it!
Moerenuma park is designed by sculptor Isamu Noguchi.
It’s free to enter, however, it has high quality architectures and playground equipment.
It’s big park so you can enjoy all day.
When I was a child, we used to play in the park so this place brings back memories.
Shiroi Koibito Park offers a tour of the production line of “Shiroi Koibito”, etc., contents for learning the history of chocolate, a cafe where you can taste original sweets of ISHIYA, and an opportunity for creating your original Shiroi Koibito.
The park is so pretty not only outside but inside.
Last month it reopened after renovation so why not go to there?
５）”Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade” 狸小路
The last one is Tanuikikoji which is known for those in the know.
It has a history of over 140 years.
And it’s an approximately 1km-long arcade with around 200 shops that runs east to west in downtown Sapporo.
I’ve spent 60% of my life in Sapporo so I have more recommendations.
But it’s time to finish so it’s done!
Why don’t you go to Sapporo?
